Being a Tourist, part 2 (The Red Fort, Baby Taj and the Trident Hotel)

The other places we toured around in Agra were the Red Fort and the “Baby Taj”.

The Fort is a walled city that was used as a Palace by the Mughal kings of India.  It functions as a prison for Shah Jahan, who built the Taj Mahal.  He son imprisoned him in the Red Fort of Agra when we took power of the empire. All Shah Jahan wanted was to be able to see the final rest place of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal.

To this day the Indian military still uses the majority if the Fort.
